Acupuncture for women's health
Women's health
Many people experience sex specific health problems which aren’t treated effectively by western medicine. Acupuncture can be beneficial to treat many of these issues.
Patients may have lived with conditions such as irregular menstrual cycles, dysmenorrhoea (painful periods), amenorrhoea (lack of periods), excessive or long bleeding or flooding for many years, and acupuncture can help.
It can improve symptoms of endometriosis and PCOS. It can also treat PMDD or premenstrual dysphoric disorder - where you may experience extreme mood swings, personality changes, pain and body aches or exhaustion and fatigue for up to two weeks before your period.
Perimenopause and menopause mark a sea change for women. For many the transition is hard – physically, emotionally and spiritually. The wide range of symptoms (such brain fog, low energy, hot flushes, changes in libido, body aches and mood changes) can be overwhelming and isolating.
Yet this relatively unrecognised and under-researched transition for women can also be empowering and liberating. Acupuncture treatment can help enormously during this phase of life.

Long- term conditions that disproportionately affect women such as autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia can also respond well to acupuncture treatment. Regular treatment can help manage the symptoms and slow the progression of chronic conditions.
We recognise these issues may also affect people of different genders, and we are an inclusive clinic.
